Do you know what is new with Views 2 that is not available in Views 1? You can use views 2 to filter comments, taxonomy terms, contributing users. If you want to install an event module, an photo gallery, your own youtube and also a fancy slideshow video module called Drupal views image flow, you will need to get a good understanding of filtering, arguments, sort criteria, fields and so on and so forth. If you are new to views, it is much easier to learn views on a Drupal 5 install. This is only my opinion others may disagree with me.
